Hong Kong Activist Joshua Wong Explodes On ESPN

Prominent Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong exploded on ESPN this week. Specifically, he took issue with the network’s response to a letter from Senator Josh Hawley where the lawmaker asked for the NBA to support resistance to China’s incursions on civil liberties.

ESPN did not heed the Senator’s call, leading to much criticism from many – including Wong.

“For those of us fighting for our very lives against Chinese repression ON A DAILY BASIS, this is a really big slap in the face,” Wong tweeted.

“The multibillion American sports industry (including @NBA, @espn and @KingJames) ought to stop just talking loud at home then kowtowing to Beijing.”

As of Friday evening, ESPN has yet to address Wong’s concerns.

Her primary areas of focus are media bias, corruption and regulations. Oh, and lobbying - obviously.
